60 pounds total
So, Q2 had her 2 year appointment today!
Weight: 25 pounds (About 25% for weight)
Head: 48cm Maybe? I can't quite remember this. But it was only 1 cm larger than 6 months ago. Thank god. Her head is big. Just like C3's head. Big.
Height: 34 inches (just over 50% for height)
The doctor was impressed with her speech/language. Q2 loved getting her ears and belly checked. All was good.
Oh, and by the time C3 was dropped off at school by my friend Cathy, she'd stopped crying. It was only an hour of screaming "I need my Mumma!"
Yeah. I'm needed.

Cock-a-Doodle-Doo
This morning at 6:02, not a bad hour, considering, I woke to some light crying and the following:
(repeat)
I thought, great, she'll throw the dog out of the crib and we'll be done with it. So, through the wall I suggested that she ditch the dog and go back to sleep.
But that didn't work. And I began to think she wasn't saying she didn't like the blue puppy, either.
So I went in to find her standing up, pionting at the monitor on the windowsill.
Q2: I don't like the girl talking! I don't like the girl talking!
Ah. She'd been hearing voices. Much easier to deal with. Psychotropic drugs should take care of that nicely.
Q2: I don't like the new coffee!
Brief pause.
Q2: I don't like the new coffeee!
Brief pause.
Q2: I don't like the new coffee!
Since Q2 doesn't yet drink coffee regularly, and she certainly isn't picky about the coffee she drinks, I thought maybe this was a dream, and she'd go back to sleep. But it just got more intense.
Q2: I don't like the new coffee! I don't like the new coffee!
Maybe she wasn't talking about coffee after all.

Yesterday's post reminded me
About 3 weeks ago somebody thought I was a grandmother. A grandmother. Maybe I don't look as much like I did in high school as I so giddily thought.
Granted, she was 5 and wanted to know if I had a granddaughter for her to play with, but that is almost beside the point.
It is unpleasant to be considered a grandmother at 37.

Is it or is it not
It might be, but it sure doesn't feel like a completement when somebody says I haven't changed at all since high school ... but I assume it is not meant unkindly.
But I didn't feel attractive at all in high school. I didn't. I wasn't. SO. It stands to reason I'm now an awkward, ugly adult with wrinkles.

punching bag
The thought of somebody imagining my face on a punching bag to get rid of their stress and anger at me really kind of creeps me out.

Existential questioning
(Blankie over head) Q2: Daddy, where me? (hee-hee)
(driving) C38: Oh, no, where is Q? Where could she be? Is she in the way back?
Q2: No!
C38: Is she on the roof of the car?
Q2: No! (pulls blankie off head)
C38: There you are!
Q2: (hilarity reigns) Hee-hee-hee!
