Another protest

We are tired of gun violence, and went to the protest downtown. T & J came down from Massachusetts to go. It was a gorgeous, sunny day, and so sad, so crowded, and I hate that we need to do this over and over and over again and nothing changes.

We then had breakfast at this diner -- SO DELICIOUS. What was it called? Ari's Diner. I had the DC omelette, which included a half-smoke, onion, cheddar, and mumbo sauce. Best omelette ever. EVER.

March 2018 -- just zooming through the year, here, hey hey.

OK, a friend was giving away a Papasan chair, and as much as I didn't really want one, any sleep solution is a good solution for Q11. So we went out in the rain to get it.

We had some limbs come down, so we thought it was a good time to teach the girls how to chain saw. But you'll notice Q11 DOESN'T HAVE SHOES ON.

After some yelping from me, C13 got shoes on.

St. Patrick's Day ... an excuse for C13 to make cookies. I think we brought these to the Bryan's annual St. Patrick's Day party, which was fun as always. 

February

Q11 and her friend S11 went ice skating. I read my book on the cold cold bleachers. C and C stayed home? I don't know, actually, what they did!

And I found that we have a giant statue of conversation hearts in Hyattsville. I found this out on February 14. I thought they'd brought these out just for Valentine's Day. I was told no, they'd been there for years.

We met with old friends on Feb 23, as they brought their daughter to Maryland to visit UMD. FUN dinner and then Yogi Castle. And, look there's my thumb in the picture!

January 2018

January was so far back I don't recall most of it. It was cold. Back to school. Back to work. Cuddle with the dog, play with friends.

Gingerbreading

C13 told me some time ago that December 12 was National Gingerbread House Day. That was cool with me, I took the day off to do gingerbread making and baking. Q11 was a little upset because why in the world were we going to do gingerbread house making on a WEEKNIGHT. She had a HARP lesson, too.

Both good points, but the National Gingerbread House Day won out. I made two big houses. C13 decorated one to go to Im. down the street because she's going into the hospital later this week.  We forgot to take a picture of that one. And I also made three small houses, each unique.

The house on the left was made by Q11, the next was mine, you can tell because of all of the flowers. I have a thing for the flowers, the tall one Q11, and the short, squat one C13 decorated. I wante to do that one, too. Maybe I'll make another one like that next year. Fun fun!

Advent II

After forgetting to hang up cookies two days in a row, I decided to hang them all up like C13 wanted anyway.

I wasn't sure how I'd do it, but I managed. I tied them all to strong and counted down. Each girl has their numbers on their side of the table.

This is just a gratuitous picture of Q11 in her coat. I took the photo to show the person who gave us the coat, but then TCR did this as Q11 tried to take a casual photo. Ha!
