Misc. finishing up July.

My Snake Plant bloomed,

Q11 and I biked to Lake Artemesia and saw a turtle stuck on two posts. We called three people (park rangers) to find out he does this all the time.

M48 called me on Thursday the 17th and said C12 and K13 asked if K13 could come down. She could. We enjoyed having her for a week. We went to Climb Zone, we went to see Dunkirk, I made the C & K walk to the library, they took the Metro by themselves to DC, we celebrated my birthday on the 26th ... and this is the ONLY photo I took.

Oops, my bad. We spent about a day and a half in IKEA after having lunch there.

Massachusetts by the Days: Thursday

Thursday, you guessed it. We lazed around, went swimming. GiGi invited us to go to Camp for a swim. It was LOVELY. I jumped in to get K13 in once she said she'd go in if I did. So, I did. I didn't stay in, though, but Q11, D11, J11, and K13 had a good time swimming. C12 stayed at home to have quiet time.  That was one thing that was missing quite a bit, I think, as we had a lot of social time.

I hadn't been to camp for a goooooodly number of years. It was lovely. The breeze was delightful.

I can't remember if we had ice cream or not, but I certainly think we must have. I wouldn't miss a day!

Massachusetts in July: By the days. Wednesday

Wednesday
Visit with G, G, C6, and S5

So after we slept over in East Hampton, we drove East the next morning to Milton, trusting the GPS to get us there. I really had no idea where Milton was, honestly. I need to look at a map. I was surprised we went so far south.

We took a walk, had a drink, had some lunch ...

... and then we went swimming. The pool at Milton is VAAAAAST, GIANT in fact. and they do this cool thing hanging the kids up on the fence. LOVED it. Wish my kids were small enough to do this still, but they most definitely are NOT.

Isn't this the cutest?

Know what we didn't do, though? Have ice cream. Oh, well.

Massachusetts in July: By the Days. The actual 4th (Tuesday!)

Tuesday.
Visit with K, T, and J11.

Hm. What's we do? Swim in their pool and eat ice cream. Yum. Oh, and Q11 & J11 & C12 played minecraft.
But I didn't take photos of that.

We visited Williston on the way home and sat on the lion for our friend Bart who went to school there.

Massachusetts in July: By the Days. Monday

Monday.
Willard Brook! I have really fond memories of going here as a kid.

Look at this great photo of Meme and Pep.

Q11 loved the water, of course. And all the girls like the rock hopping and wading through the brook.

Ice cream at Cherry Hill after dinner. Yum!

Massachusetts in July: By the Days. Sunday.

The girls and I did a week in Massachusetts, giving TCR some precious time alone, and me some extended family time. I think that was win-win.

Sunday. Gloucester for the 4th of July Party. No photo evidence that this happened. I fell into the tide pools and went swimming at the seaglass beach. All good. Flip flops gave me a blister between my toes. I survived.

Massachusetts in July: By the Days. Saturday.

Monday.

What's the first thing I do when I go on vacation??

Ice cream. of course. Rota Springs in Sterling. The ice cream was GOOD. I had mocha chip, I believe.

On the way there we saw a turtle being shoveled out of the road. A snapper!
